I’ve switched from Android over to iOS, and I wanted to share some thoughts that I hadn’t read in any comparisons online before.
First off, we need a little background. I’ve tried a lot of flavors of Android and I was big into rooting. I’ve used HTC Sense, MIUI, and Vanilla Android (Froyo, Gingerbread, and ICS) from all types of builds. I’ve personally owned two Android phones, one slow and one fast, and I’ve also messed around with many Android phones of friends. As for iPhone, I’m using an untethered jailbreak of iOS 5.0.1 on T-Mobile using a software unlock, and I’ve also tried it with the Gevey SIM unlock just last week.
I hear this all the time: what browser should I use, which one is the best, why pick this one over that? I won’t give try to make this sound more complicated than it really is; it’s mostly personal preference. I most often use Mozilla Firefox, and will explain why in a moment, but often recommend Google Chrome to those that ask. As such, these two will be the focus of this article, though others may be mentioned.
I myself am a new Linux user, after switching over my laptop to Ubuntu 11.10 a few months back. I still use Windows regularly as well; however, I can honestly say that I enjoy myself when using Ubuntu too. I can’t say that Linux is recommended for everybody. I can’t promise that you will be happy if you switch. In fact, I think it takes a special kind of person and mindset to truly appreciate Linux. It’s just very different from anything you’ve used before. It took me a couple of hours to get a rough grip when I made the Windows to Macintosh transition for some projects. It’s been months that I’ve been using Ubuntu regularly and I’m still learning.
